High school all over again.

This picture of Madonna and Paltrow took me right back to my junior year in high school in Ventura, California. (No one from those days read my blog, so I can just say what I want, right?)

The two most popular girls at Ventura High School--whom I actually loathed--were the ones I was desperate to be friends with. Apparently, my masochism began early on in life. We'll call them Debbie and Heather. Debbie was Italian, had perfect hair and was a year older than me, as was Heather, who was a transplanted Southern Belle from Atlanta and also had the perfect hair, which was a necessity back in the days of Farrah Fawcett. They were best friends, both strangely beautiful, crazy-popular and very well dressed (who wears Gunne Sax dresses or white three-piece suits to school?). Debbie and Heather, that's who. They both had large but exotic noses that they used to look down upon all of the unworthy.

ANYbitch. This is what I see when I look at these two snots, Madonna and Paltrow. Everything is an inside joke with them. They are also laughing at and about you. Oh, you hate them for it, but yet, you wish they would let you sit at their fancy table. Bleh.

It's being reported that, sadly, Natasha Richardson has indeed passed away.

E! news is reporting:

Natasha Richardson has succumbed to her injuries.

The Tony Award winner was pronounced dead today after being removed from life support at a New York hospital. She was 45.

“A small private funeral” is planned, according to friends who spoke earlier to E! News on behalf of the bereaved family.

The wife of Liam Neeson and daughter of Oscar winners Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson was hospitalized Monday in Montreal after a fall during a ski lesson. Richardson, accompanied by Neeson, was flown Tuesday to New York and admitted to Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was pronounced brain dead.


"Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha," Neeson's rep, Alan Nierob, said in a statement. "They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time."

American Idol Update: Paula's Still High, Drunk and Crazy

Is she just drunk? Is she just high? Is she just insane? Good LAWD, Paula Abdul needed to be smacked last night. Someone gave her two new words to memorize: pierce and vulnerable. Over and over, those two expressions drooled out of her pill-hole. I was actually screaming at the TV (okay, I do that a lot) and cheering on Simon when he called her "steeeyooo-pid".

Country Music Night on American Idol is never soothing in my book, so last night was one big cold, steel rod in my already throbbing left eye. Lil Rounds butchered her song and had the nerve to talk back ad nauseum to her critics. But the full-body eyeroll of the night belonged to man-kisser, Adam Lambert's "middle-eastern" influenced rendition of the Johnny Cash classic, "Ring of Fire". I'll bet there were many burning rings of fire once middle America got a load of this crap. Having said that, I think he's gonna win this year. He's got a better-than-okay voice with a fantastic range. Gayboys gots ta represent, mmmkay?




Sidebar: Adam's bio says he's 5'11". Just how wee is Seacrest?? He looks like an Italian greyhound next to Miss Lambert.

Northeastern Boxer Rescue - "Beamer and Duke Need Your Help."

I just received an email from the lovely folks at Northeastern Boxer Rescue. Two more sweet boxers are in need of your love and support, if you are able to help. Please meet Beamer and Duke and take a second to read their stories...

The initial diagnosis was glaucoma, and the doctor also thought Beamer had a tumor behind his eye. When he was seen by an eye specialist it was discovered that the glaucoma was secondary to an untreated blunt trauma to his right eye. Luckily there was no tumor. The Ophthalmologist determined he was blind in that eye, and said it was in Beamer’s best interest to have it removed. Since his eye has pronounced bulging the doctor said he would risk further damage if he did not have this surgery. We had him neutered and his surgery to remove his eye is scheduled for this week. Everyone who has met Beamer has remarked what a great dog he is and that he is handsome to boot. How sad it is that Beamer must lose his eye because his injury was left untreated. Again we need your help. The estimated cost for his medical bills is $1500. Can you donate to help Beamer?

A family contacted us after reading Tucker’s story with hope that we could help their three year old male boxer named Duke who they said had the same symptoms. He had been battling chronic ear infections and severe skin allergies for over two years, and his family was at the point of considering euthanasia. Like many of the dogs we get into our rescue program, a lack of finances did not allow Duke’s family to continue the recommended medical treatments. They were reluctant to give him up but could not watch him suffer any longer. They decided to surrender him to rescue when we agreed to help them. NBR made arrangements to have Duke dropped off at a vet hospital to undergo evaluation and treatment. When he arrived at the hospital his ears were so inflamed the doctors could not see into his ear canal. He was in misery with severe itching and was in extreme distress. He has responded well to the medical care he has been getting at the hospital the past week but the doctors say he will need many months of continued treatment at home. He now looks 70% better, and the inflammation in his ears has subsided enough to accept medication. Duke will be released from the hospital to one of our foster homes this week. He will arrive with several medications, a prescription food (ZD ), and instructions for his continued care. We will give an update as soon as he settles in with his foster family.
