"Single Ladies" performed by football team on "GLEE" last night--GENIUS.
I'm completely on board with my production number-loving husband on the joy of watching "GLEE" each Wednesday night on FOX.
Last night was absolutely genius and just darling. If you're not watching it by now, you really need to be. It's just fantastic.
Does this make up for my bitchiness regarding Pinchy McLemonhead earlier?
I didn't think so. Sigh.

Oh dear. The nun's didn't enjoy Lada Gaga's MTV VMA performance. Whaaaa?
Lady Gaga performing "Paparazzi"
at the VMAs last weekend
No. I simply cannot believe that Catholic nuns didn't quite care for Lady Gaga's performance piece (which is what it was, in every sense) on Sunday night's MTV VMAs. (Eyeroll.)
via whyfame.com:
If you didn’t know, Lady Gaga (on her real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) was matriculated for several years, guess where…in New York, at the Convent of the Sacred Heart girls school, New York Post reports. So she was preparing to be a nun!!!
“When someone showed the nuns a video of her bloody performance at the VMA Awards, the good sisters were not amused”, the report added."
Ummm...whose bright idea was it to show this to the nuns in the first place? What they don't know about their former student won't hurt them, I always say. (Actually, I don't always say that.)
My point is: It was a METAPHOR, people!! Well, kind of a literal metaphor, if you will. Stars have a love/hate relationship with the paparazzi and Lady Gaga's performance, I felt, was brilliant. It was kind of, "yeah, chase me, wound me, leave me alone, chase me, oh dear, you killed me" sort of statement. You can't tell me Lindsay Lohan doesn't love every. Goddamned. Second. of her time with the paps--we all know she even tips them off as to her whereabouts. It's almost as though she's got a deep-seated deathwish so that she will become iconic like her tragic idol Marilyn or Michael Jackson. (I got my Psych Degree from Sears, fyi.)
Then we do have the Princess Diana side of things, don't we? She, too, manipulated the European press and paps, but they (and a drunk chauffer) killed her in the end.
The performance certainly required discussion between kids or teens and their parents--but the nuns most definitely didn't need to watch it, forPITYsake.

Song of the Freakin' DAY, Ya'll. This is serious!
Who here loves Stereophonics as much as I do (Annette??)? Here they are, doing a cover of my favorite Rolling Stones song...like EVER, "Gimme Shelter". I'm in love with Stereophonics. I stumbled across this cover and flipped my ever-lovin' WIG.
What do ya'll think??

Johnny Depp, Christian Bale Attend Chicago Premiere of "Public Enemies"

Johhny Depp
I'm pretty convinced that Johnny Depp is the most gracious actor on the planet.
Last night in Chicago, for the premiere of his latest film, "Public Enemies", Johnny delayed the screening of the movie to stay out on the street to meet fans and sign autographs. This kind of stuff isn't publicized all that much. We're always seeing Scientolo-Tom Cruisey hamming it up for photo ops for his appearances, and they tend to creep me out. He's so calculating with his interaction with fans.

Patrick and I are still "singing" the Christian Bale remix of his rant a few months ago. ("OhhhGOOOOD. It's fucking distracting!") It's just so darn catchy!
In case you missed it...enjoy!

"Public Enemies" - Starring Johnny Depp, Opening July 1, 2009
Oh my goodness. I was just telling Stephen that there weren't really any movies I'm looking forward to seeing, then I saw THIS.
Then of course, I'm a big dork because I realize now that I wanna see "The Hangover", too. Maybe it just shows my range of taste, non? Or, maybe I'm a 16 year old dorky boy.

Brad Pitt Calls Mel Gibson "Sugar Tits"--Hilarity Ensues
"Thanks, Sugar Tits", was Brad Pitt's response to being given the Spike TV's Guy's Choice Hall of Fame Award for "Fight Club" by Mel Gibson. (You'll remember Mel calling a female Malibu police officer that term of endearment after being arrested for a DUI...) I love Brad. Not just because he's sorta purrdy, but because I think he's genuinely funny and a smartass. Perfect combo.
Why does Edward (don't call me Ed) Norton always look like a crab-ass?
Anyway. David Fincher is one of my favorite directors. Along with "Fight Club" (one of my Top 5 Favorite Movies EVER), he directed "Se7en", "That Benjamin Button Shit" (wasn't that the name?), and some really visually beautiful music videos--remember them? Oh, those were the days.
