Robert Downey, Jr. to play the sexy vampire, Lestat?

Yes, please.
(Offering my neck...)

It's being whispered that Robert Downey, Jr. will sign on to play Anne Rice's beloved character, Lestat. We have seen Lestat portrayed by Tom Scientolo-Cruisey in "Interview With the Vampire" and by Stuart (aka Charlize Theron's girlfriend)Townsend, in "Queen of the Damned". I like both of these films, but I didn't really feel the charisma with Townsend. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I enjoyed Tom Cruise's performance in "Interview".

So now--Robert Downey, Jr. as Lestat? HELL YEAH. He would be fantastic. I love vampire stories...with the big, fat exception of that goddamned "Twilight" crap. It's time for GROWN UP vampires again, yes?

Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that the ever-charming Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., is in “close talks” to play the vampire Lestat in a “restart” of The Vampire Chronicles, a series of novels by author Anne Rice first written in the ’70s. It (mostly) tells the tale of a French nobleman, Lestat de Lioncourt, who gets turned into a vampire in the 18th century.

Again. Yes, please.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by Tommy Girl's performance as well. I thought he'd ruin the whole thing, but he was quite believable.

Robert Downey Jr? Hell yes. If David Talbot of The Talamasca wasn't @ 70, I'd like to see Downey in Tale of the Body Thief. I have to say that was my favourite book of all, and that is saying much.

But who would play my beloved Louis?
